Kaiser Permanente Anaheim Medical Center spans 27.5 acres and includes a 6-story, 262-bed, 420,000 sq ft hospital, a 3-story, 30,000 sq ft central utilities plant, and a 6-story, 178,000 sq ft support building. Facilities feature 10 ORs, 8 radiology rooms with MRI/CT, 3 C-section rooms, and 9 labor-delivery rooms. The electrical system is 12.47 kV with 4 substations, 3×2000 kW generators, 14 transfer switches, and paralleling switchgear. Systems include fire alarm, security, nurse call, CATV, MATV, clock, area of refuge communication, and PA. Value engineering kept the project on budget. Completed on time with no claims or delays. The support building earned LEED Gold. Occupancy classifications: Office/Exam Rooms (Group B), Procedure (Group 1-2), OSHPD 3 Surgical Clinic (Level 2), Type 1A Construction.
